Position Summary:
The Projects Officer is a high-impact, strategic role responsible for managing diverse projects while driving workforce development and fostering community engagement. The ideal candidate will bring advanced expertise in project management, strategic planning, and community collaboration to deliver initiatives that create meaningful outcomes across various sectors.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee the execution of a wide range of projects across different domains, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develop project charters, schedules, budgets, and risk management plans to guide successful implementation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within scope, and under budget.
  • Track project progress, measure outcomes, and produce detailed reports for stakeholders, funders, and leadership.

Workforce Development

  • Design and implement innovative workforce programs that address skills gaps, increase employability, and create sustainable career pathways.
  • Partner with businesses, educational institutions, and workforce agencies to align initiatives with labor market trends and community needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of workforce programs and recommend enhancements.
  • Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and professional development opportunities for participants.

Community Development

  • Engage with community leaders, organizations, and residents to identify needs, opportunities, and resources for collaborative development.
  • Organize outreach campaigns, events, and workshops to increase awareness and participation in organizational programs.
  • Serve as a representative of the organization in community forums, building trust and fostering strong relationships.
  • Collect and analyze community feedback to ensure projects and programs meet local priorities and expectations.

General Responsibilities

  • Identify funding opportunities, assist in grant writing, and ensure adherence to grant requirements and reporting standards.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff and volunteers involved in project execution and community activities.
  • Represent the organization at conferences, events, and networking opportunities to enhance visibility and foster partnerships.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximize organizational impact and operational efficiency.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Workforce Development, Community Development, or a closely related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in project management, workforce development, or community engagement.
    • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, multi-sector projects.
    • Experience in building collaborative partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
    • Experience with grant writing and compliance is highly desirable.

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Advanced project management skills, including expertise in planning, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with diverse audiences.
  • In-depth knowledge of workforce development practices and community engagement strategies.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Trello, Asana, Microsoft Project) and data analysis platforms.
  • Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
