Position Title: Community Engagement Specialist

Reports To: Program Manager/Chief of Operations

Position Summary

The Community Engagement Specialist is responsible for providing support to Project Manager and staff in all related program and office activities. This role ensures the efficient distribution of materials, equipment, and resources, aligning logistics with program goals and compliance requirements. The position requires hands-on fieldwork, including transportation, loading, and on-site support.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Program Manager in logistics coordination for programs, including materials, supplies, and equipment distribution.
• Plan and execute transportation routes across multiple locations.
• Operate commercial/heavy vehicles (trucks) as needed.
• Load and unload materials (50+ lbs).
• Maintain inventory and ensure resource availability.
• Ensure compliance with safety and transportation regulations.
• Collaborate with internal teams (programs, operations, finance).
• Document logistics activities for grant reporting and compliance.
• Support community events, distributions, and program activities.
• Monitor planting site and tree assessment.
• Monitor vehicle condition and coordinate maintenance when needed.
• Assist in any other program or office related tasks.

Qualifications:

• Valid Driver’s License for approved heavy trucks.
• Previous experience in logistics, transportation, or inventory management preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work in dynamic, field-based environments.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.
• Basic English language skills.
• Availability for local travel as needed.

Physical Requirements:

• This position is contingent upon the availability of funds and continued financial support from the sponsoring agencies or funding sources.

 Work Environment:

• Hybrid environment including office, warehouse, and field operations.
